Read MoreOn a rare occasion, I'll take a house-call for family photos, and this time I totally scored with Meghan and Carson's house, as it offered us multiple scenes, and the lighting was in a cooperative mood. Typically house-calls are only reserved for newborn shoots, as I do not know the layout and light of your house, and I like to scout and map my shoots beforehand. Thank you M & C - it was so awesome finally meeting baby! I first met Meghan in March, when she was pregnant with Ryan. Coincidentally, Ryan was born on my due-date, so it was cool seeing into the future of my family that Nick and I are creating.

Read MoreI love it when a family is so perfectly color coordinated! They took a leap with the mustard yellow accent, and putting both men in plaid that compliments each other. I love mixtures of patterns and materials too. This shoot was scheduled for a mother who has recently changed her title to Grandmother, with 2 adorable new babies under 1 year old. An extended shoot is more of a bargain, and is perfect for when relatives are in town. Two of these families were not from the Bay Area. The Extended Family shoot package is $450, and can be divided amongst the family members, so everyone walks away with at least 20 images per family. This shoot produced a staggering 195 images in a little under 1 hour of shooting! Well China Camp sure is the hidden gem this year, isn't it?!? Here we have Chloe, a daughter from Sacramento. Her parents and I have our outfit changes down to a science, so we were able to fit a few looks into one mini-shoot. Thank you Chloe for being an absolute sweetheart.

This shoot took place at the Sleepy Hollow / Terra Linda Divide in San Rafael - this starts at the end of Ridgewood Drive in the Sun Valley Neighborhood. We had the hills to ourselves, and it was a group effort in terms of posing - half of these poses were Luke's (pictured here standing on the rock) idea!
Read MoreThis shoot was one of those instances where the timing was just a little bit off - our youngest model here unexpectedly took a nap the afternoon before the shoot, so waking him up for pictures was definitely a challenge! With the collective effort of Mom, Dad and Big Brother, we ended up getting some smiles! Wardrobe note: I typically shy away from logos & neons, but in this instance, it worked!
