There are some weddings that change you, in a way, or remind you of parts of yourself that are your best parts, and that is the major draw for myself in shooting weddings. This wedding reminded me of the beauty of Paul Simon Graceland, being barefoot is underrated, and that food served in courses over the night with drinks and friends is really one of the most joyous things around. I feel like the Nora Ephron inside of me was bright and abundant. I never want to forget this wedding party.

Asher & Isa hired me in March to cover 2 weddings: the first for family in Oakland, and the second for friends in Tomales, California. This first wedding was filled with family, and close friends, a catered taco truck, flowers, and bright colors. It was incredible to see all of the families together, giving their love to these two dynamic individuals.

Read MoreI was asked to cover a unique assignment: the releasing of doves to commemorate this families grandmothers birthday. Honestly I'd never covered a dove release, but was up for the challenge. The entire experience ended up being so positive, and moving. I was swallowing tears as I snapped pictures, and feel like I've made new friends. Thank you for asking me to capture your family at the Golden Gate Bridge this July. It was an honor!

It was a moving event, filled with laughter, and so much love. What a special place that exists for those who need it. There was live music, games, food, and the staff was so happy and generous.

Read MoreWhen Tereza & Cody suggested this year's family portrait session be held on Mt. Tam, I was a little apprehensive because of tourists, and I know their girls are still small (which basically means, short attentions for photos!), but Nick and I managed to find our our little corner of the Matt Davis Trail, next to the Pantoll trail, that was perfectly suited for families with small children. What we ended up capturing was life during this time when not everyone wants to smile, or even get their picture taken. I want T & C to look back a these photos and remember this moment in time with a feeling of fondness. Parenthood can be busy, but its so so so worth it!
Read MoreWhat an absolute TREAT it was to visit the Yuba River just north of Nevada City, California. I was completely blown away at the COLOR, and the ROCKS! Although we could not really swim in the river, we did manage to find a spot in between the rocks at Hoyts Crossing, to relax in the river, while Harold swam back & forth between on, while on leash. I would like to explore this area of California even further, to find the perfect swimming hole, where the pup can be offleash.
